Shaira Chaer is an internationally published photographer, organizer and writer born and raised in the Bronx. She received her B.S. in Human Services at CUNY City Tech in 2012, and went on to complete both an M.A. in Urban Studies and a certification in Public Policy and Administration from the Murphy Institute for Worker Education and Labor Studies in 2016. Chaer’s cultural criticisms, essays and interviews have been featured in Remezcla, Madamenoire, Vibe Magazine, Posture Magazine, AWTY Magazine, Adolescent Content, Refinery29, Yahoo!, Girlgaze Project and more. Chaer was also a Montez Press Summer 2017 artist-in-residence at at Matthew Gallery.
