The Opportunity

ReFrame seeks a proven communications strategist with expert technical skills to join our team as the organization’s Senior Communications Strategist. This position will manage a cross-organization editorial calendar, create and distribute compelling content to the organization’s key audiences through  multiple channels (email, social media, etc.). The ideal candidate is: strategic in their approach to planning, and artful in their construction of stories, thrives on shipping their work, and has the flexibility to thrive in a startup environment. 

This full-time position will report to the Executive Director, but will work across staff teams. This is a fully remote position.

Key Responsibilities

Be a part of a team building a human centered narrative infrastructure across social justice movements.
You will work with a growing team of staff and stakeholders who are building a human centered infrastructure across organizations and movements to advance narratives. While executing particular pieces of work, contributing to and supporting the team towards success is the responsibility of everyone.

Create, curate, and distribute the right content to the right people at the right time

You will produce audience specific emotionally resonant content that illustrate the vision and values the organization brings to building a human centered ecosystem for narrative power. You will be accountable for managing the content creation process with other staff; responsible for curating compelling stories from partners; and responsible for producing pieces drawing on the work of your colleagues for inspiration and direction. You will manage a cross organization editorial calendar based on annual and multi-year goals, with multiple and varying deadlines. 

Maintain the communications and engagement infrastructure 

You will maintain, update, and identify growth needs for ReFrame’s CRM, CMS, social media channels, content production apps, etc. You will stay up-to-date on emerging channels and implement communications and engagement best practices. You will maintain documentation on these systems to make them useful to other staff and consultants when needed. 

Drive brand integration

Working across programs, supporting stakeholders in understanding, integrating, and activating the organization’s brand. This will include: hosting training for staff, Advisory Committee members, and others; developing stakeholder facing materials; onboarding new staff and Advisory Committee members. 

Support ReFrame Programs

You will get in where you fit in across ReFrame’s programs when needed. This could include, but is not limited to: contributing to or leading trainings for the Catalyst program, contributing to content creation for campaigning with the Signals program, developing compelling decks for the executive team for fundraising and partner meetings.

  • A commitment to progressive and liberatory change, a great work ethic, professionalism, and strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Five or more years of strategic communications experience developing and executing narrative shift strategies and/or five years experience in brand management, content production, editorial management, or marketing. 
  • Experience working with diverse racial, ethnic, gender, sexuality, and class communities and networks
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the technical skill sets of communications:
    • Writing for multiple audiences
    • Graphic design
    • Video editing 
    • Photography
    • Traditional media skill sets

Compensation & Benefits 

This is a full-time position. The salary range for this position is $70,000 – $80,000 annually. We offer an awesome benefits package including:
