Rubi Martinez

NextGen America .
Rubi has built a successful career in Journalism working for large to medium-size markets, in both English and Spanish-language T.V. news organizations such as Univision, ABC, NBC, MundoFox, and CNBC. As a journalist, she’s interviewed fascinating individuals, covered historical events, and led the most top-rated newscast in the market—her work in the field earned her an Emmy Award nomination from the Television Academy. Seemingly, Rubi had achieved her dreams—yet she felt I needed to expand my professional career. In 2016, she left news to work for a U.S. Presidential candidate which led her to work for other political and issue-based campaigns which opened the doors to develop a new set of skills for a very niche field, political communications. The work she does is fueled by the intersection of her passions for storytelling and advocacy. Her background as a journalist, her deep understanding for Latino/millennial audiences, and her fascination for emerging digital tools, have led her to successfully elevate narratives and catalyze a broader impact for the projects she takes on. Rubi has appeared on NBC, Telemundo, Univision, Fusion, CNN, CNN en Español, The LA Times, La Opinion, and La Prensa among other local, national and international T.V. networks and news publications to talk on a broad number of topics. She currently serves on the YPN advisory council of Latinas Lead California, and in the past has served as board member of the NAHJ and CCNMA.
