Renee Slajda

Renée Slajda is the Communications Director at the Louisiana Center for Children’s Rights, a nonprofit law office that represents and advocates for children in the state’s justice system. Renée develops strategic communications plans to advance the organization’s policy agenda and shift narratives around black youth and the justice system. Among other campaigns, Renée has handled public relations for LCCR’s successful efforts to raise the age of criminal jurisdiction in Louisiana, limit the use of juvenile life without parole sentences, and remove children from New Orleans’ adult jail. Renée earned her B.A. in Africana Studies from Barnard College of Columbia University.
